FAQ & shipping
Plain answers.
The questions we get asked most, without the runaround. Anything missing, ask — a person reads the inbox.
Freshness & coffee
- When was my coffee roasted?
- We roast to order in small batches and ship within 48 hours of roasting. The roast date is printed on every bag, so you never have to guess.
- Should I brew it straight away?
- Give it a short rest. Filter roasts are at their best from about day 5 to day 30 after roasting; espresso roasts from day 10. Whole beans in the sealed bag keep comfortably for six to eight weeks.
- Do you sell ground coffee?
- We ship whole bean only. Ground coffee stales in minutes rather than weeks, and we'd rather send you coffee that still tastes like itself. Our hand grinder is the most-used item in the equipment section for a reason.
- How should I store it?
- In the bag, rolled tight, in a cupboard. Not the fridge, not the freezer, not a glass jar on a sunny shelf. Air, light, and moisture are the enemies; the bag handles all three.
- How is the decaf decaffeinated?
- Quiet Hours uses the Swiss Water process — caffeine is drawn out with water, time, and temperature, no solvents. It's why it still tastes like a coffee we'd choose to drink.
Shipping
- How much is shipping?
- Flat-rate standard shipping, free over the threshold shown at checkout. Orders are dispatched within 48 hours of roasting and typically arrive 2–4 business days later. You'll get a confirmation email when your order ships. (This is a demo store — nothing actually ships, and no real money moves.)
- Do you ship internationally?
- The demo checkout accepts test payments only, so shipping is fictional everywhere equally. In the spirit of the brand: domestic only, because freshness doesn't survive customs queues.
- My order arrived damaged — what now?
- Write to us with a photo and your order number and we'll reroast and reship. Coffee that didn't survive the trip is our problem, not yours.
Subscriptions & orders
- Do you offer subscriptions?
- Not yet in this demo build — it's the next feature on the roadmap. The idea: pick a coffee (or let the roaster choose), a grind-free bag lands on your schedule, pause or cancel anytime.
- Can I change or cancel an order?
- Until it's roasted, yes — reply to your confirmation email. Once your batch is in the drum it has your name on it, and we'll ship it as planned.
- What's your return policy?
- Unopened bags: full refund within 30 days. Opened bags: if the coffee isn't right, tell us what you brewed and how — more often than not it's a grind or dose fix, and if it isn't, we'll make it right.
